What Can You Do at the Festival This Year?

Just like every year, we’re back in the park with lots of great music worth discovering. The artists who will take the stage at the Jazz in the Park Competition come from different corners of the world and are ready to make you dance to their rhythms.

At the 7th edition of the Jazz in the Park Competition, 13 bands are competing for the grand prize. They are: Magro, Daoud, David Luca Quartet, Nonconformist Anthology, Subconscious Trio, Kitti, Anna Hauss, Lyder Røed Quintet, Răzvan Cipcă Trio, Jazz Family Trio “Shekband”, Zouratié Koné Trio, Chief’s Condition, and Abel Marton Nagy’s Cosmos Band. Besides the competing bands, special guests will also perform on the JiP Competition stage.

Plus, there are six special guests: Roberto Fonseca, Elena Mîndru, 7th Sense, Corto.Alto, Răzvan Florescu Quartet, and Klawo – last year’s competition winners.

If you come to Central Park from July 5-7, besides the concerts, you can enjoy numerous activities and relaxation zones prepared by our friends and partners. To make it easier for you to plan, we’ve prepared a list of things you can do in the park. A little something for all ages:

For Music Lovers (and not only) Our friends from BRD – Groupe Société Générale are helping us again this year to set up the Music Lounge. A zone where you’ll find activities with and about music. Here’s what you can do there:

Drum Camp: Free drum workshops for both kids and adults. Pre-registration is required, so keep an eye on our social media pages for the form, as well as on-site.

Music Lessons: For three days, you can participate in music lessons where you’ll learn to play guitar or piano with Music Hub.

Test Audio Equipment: If you love high-quality audio systems as much as we do, our friends from Meze Audio are bringing top-notch headphones. We recommend you try them out.

Jam Session: The fun continues in the evening with a jam session on the Casino plateau.

Besides the Music Lounge, our friends from Pepsi are back with Vinyl Fair. Because we know you love old-school music, Pepsi is preparing a vinyl fair where you can browse through the most famous jazz albums and surely find other genres as well.

For Those Seeking New Experiences If you feel more active and want to try new experiences, we’ve prepared several options for you and your friends:

Zip Line Over the Lake by XIXO: To register, you need to purchase a XIXO or a Hell Ice Coffee product at the festival. Participation is limited to available spots.

8×8 Climbing Wall: Participation is based on pre-registration and limited spots. Keep an eye on our pages for the form!

African Dance and Drum Workshops from the PPC area: Held every festival day and participation, like the other activities, is completely free.

Pizza Workshop by Birra Moretti: Every day, within the limit of available spots, you can enjoy making a pizza from scratch in one of the organized workshops. The duration of a workshop is 45 minutes, during which you’ll learn how to prepare an Italian-style pizza, guided by a chef.

Game Area in the DIGI Corner: Here you’ll find classic games like table tennis and foosball. If you want to challenge your friends, this is the place!

We’ve prepared a lot!

If You Get Thirsty at the Festival We have several areas in the park set up by our friends, perfect for hot summer days. You can enjoy a refreshing drink and something good to eat, with comfortable seating areas provided by our friends from Brico Depot. Here’s where we recommend you stop by:

Purcari Wines: Waiting for you with wines to relax and enjoy the concerts in the park.

Aperol: For a refresh, stop by the Aperol stand for something cold and maybe a photo in their swing area.

Birra Moretti: If you prefer something more classic but just as good, Birra Moretti is bringing a range of authentic Italian beers, served cold, alongside pizza. New this year: Birra Sale di Mare.

Olivo: Indispensable from our festival, coffee from our friends at Olivo Coffee Culture will keep us going during the three days of competition: iced or not.

If You Want to Buy Something Nice Come to the Creator’s Market IARMAROC, where you’ll find over 50 talented artisans of fashion, jewelry, and more. You’ll surely find something unique that will win your heart. Shopping isn’t done in silence, of course, so we’ve also set up a DJ stage with vinyl sets to keep you moving all day.

And if you want to show your friends that you were at the festival, you can also stop by the shop from our friends at Daisler Print House for JiP Competition merchandise. You’ll find everything for a cool outfit: t-shirts, fanny packs, hoodies, and much more.

We Haven’t Forgotten the Little Ones In the park, children will have plenty of fun with activities specially designed to delight them while the parents relax.

Hochland: Will organize games aimed at stimulating creativity and team spirit among children and the whole family.

LEGO Brick Depo Stand: Will enchant not only the little ones but also the adults, with countless colorful pieces to build the most unique creations.

Mega Image: Will ensure that kids don’t get bored at the festival. Many games and surprises await them in their corner.

So, to put it briefly: You won’t have time to get bored!

Whether you come to the festival with friends or family, there’s something to do for everyone, young and old. Join us in the park from July 5-7 to enjoy lots of great music and fun activities together! We’re waiting for you!
