Jazz in the Park, a daytime festival, officially opens the summer between June 6–8 in the “Romulus Vuia” Ethnographic Park in Cluj-Napoca. The 13th edition once again transforms the park into a universe of musical discovery, with four stages, live music, workshops, jam sessions, inspirational talks, and activities for all ages. The relaxed atmosphere, nature, friends, fine wine, and jazz in all its forms create a beautiful experience, lived in the rhythm of the day.
Over the three festival days, the four stages in the Ethnographic Park will bring live music, DJ sets, and improvisation. Hill Stage and Backyard Stage will alternate hosting the main concerts. Friends Stage offers a selection of vinyl sets and guest DJs, while the Jam Session stage is open each evening from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM, for artists in the festival and musicians from the audience who want to join in.
The 2025 edition announces the presence of major names in the global jazz scene: Ibrahim Maalouf with the new project Trumpets of Michel-Ange, Kokoroko, Biréli Lagrène Quartet, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Omar Sosa & JazzyBIT, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Alabaster DePlume, Mammal Hands, and many others.
Surprises and novelties in the program
To encourage attendance from the early hours when the gates open, the organizers have prepared two warm concerts on Saturday and Sunday, featuring festival friends Moonlight Breakfast and Ada Milea. Additionally, Sunday will feature a special concert by the Polish band Bluto, part of a special partnership within the Romanian-Polish season. The lineup is completed with the bands Pasha Fedotov Quartet and Mark Oselski Trio.
Old friends of the festival like DJ K-Lu, Dubase, Sugár, Bianca Oance, Andrei Puiu, Bully, and Andi Moisescu will bring the right vibe to the Friends Stage, with DJ sets and rare vinyl selections.
Jazz in the Park has its first artist residency
This year also marks a premiere: the first musical residency in the history of the festival, curated by the band JazzyBIT, celebrating 13 years of activity – just like the festival. The residency includes three special moments: a show with DJ K-Lu, a concert built together with Omar Sosa and Joo Kraus, and a spontaneous jam session that brings together guests from the festival and beyond.
