Jazz in the Park and the Art of Discovering Something New
How beautiful it is to be in love.
To discover new things about someone and to notice small details. Most of the time, you end up learning something about yourself through the other person. And falling in love rarely happens all at once, mostly it grows from curiosity. From time spent together.
But what if all these things didn’t happen only between people? What if you could fall in love with a place, a feeling, or even a weekend?
Every year, in the first weekend of summer, Jazz in the Park proposes exactly that: an invitation to fall in love. It can be a love for music, for people, for time lived slowly or for all three at once. For the way the sun sets over the houses of the Ethnographic Museum. You might fall in love with the atmosphere, with the food, with an activity you never imagined you would join, with the simple idea that a weekend can be lived gently.
Between June 5-7, 2026, in the “Romulus Vuia” Ethnographic Park in Cluj-Napoca, the festival returns as a daytime experience, a space where you arrive at noon and leave before midnight. A place where you don’t lose nights, but gain a weekend.
In a park that breathes history, among traditional houses and blooming trees, a different kind of world comes alive for three days each year. A world where you might fall in love with new music, with artists you haven’t yet discovered, with an unexpected conversation, or with the silence between two songs.
The first wave of artists confirms this promise.
The Lisa Simone Quartet brings to the stage a voice that carries both history and strength, yet speaks with contemporary sensitivity. Marcos Valle, a pioneer of bossa nova. Venna, a Grammy-winning saxophonist. The Yilian Cañizares Trio blends Afro-Cuban jazz with classical and contemporary influences. Bugge Wesseltoft, Arild Andersen, and Sanskriti Shrestha unite three generations in a profound musical dialogue. Kraak & Smaak fuse jazz, funk, and electronic sounds, while Rabih Abou-Khalil Quartet adds the rich textures of Arabic jazz and world fusion. From the 2025 Jazz in the Park Competition return JEMMA (Grand Prize Winner) and MINDTHEGAP Trio (Best Romanian Act).
Yet perhaps the most important thing is not the lineup itself, but the way you listen. With time to sit on the grass, or to dance barefoot, or to flip through a book, to discover something new, to enjoy a meaningful conversation.
Jazz in the Park is an experience built for those who choose quality over excess. For those who believe a festival can also be a place to breathe, not just a marathon to survive.
This February, Jazz in the Park extends a special invitation: “An invitation to fall in love with the festival.” An invitation to discover this world for three days and then decide for yourself if you want to return.
More than 60% of passes have already been sold, and capacity is limited to 5,000. Until February 24, a special price is available, including the option to pay in installments, for those who choose to secure their place early.
