The first artist residency at Jazz in the Park! JazzyBIT is one of the most beloved contemporary jazz bands in Romania. Formed by Teodor Pop (piano), Mihai Moldoveanu (bass), and Szabó Csongor-Zsolt (drums), JazzyBIT brings a modern fusion of funk, Latin, and rock into jazz, filled with groove and vibrant energy. They are longtime friends of the festival and have played on every Jazz in the Park stage — from the smallest to the largest. They’ve been part of all major editions, and over the years, the relationship between the festival and the band has grown into an artistic partnership based on friendship and mutual respect.
Sunday: JazzyBIT & Omar Sosa – The most anticipated moment of the residency. Omar Sosa, the renowned Cuban pianist and six-time Grammy nominee, shares a beautiful friendship with the band that spans nearly a decade. Together, they complement each other perfectly in a project built around five pieces by Omar Sosa and four by JazzyBIT. Six musicians will be on stage: the three members of JazzyBIT will be joined by Ernesttico (percussion), Joo Kraus (trumpet), and, of course, Omar Sosa on piano.
