Genres: liquid funk, jazz-influenced, and soulful sounds
About the artist:
Quite Lucky is a Romanian drum & bass promoter, here to celebrate our collective love for the genre, through happenings that promote the soulful, forward-thinking side of DnB. Their special guest at Jazz in the Park is London Elektricity (Tony Colman), highly regarded as a pioneer of soulful, live-instrument-driven liquid drum & bass, frequently blending jazz, funk, and emotional vocals with high-energy production. As co-founder of Hospital Records, he is known for incorporating live instrumentation, emotional vocals, and upbeat melodies, often describing his style as “Fast Soul Music”.
Most famous album:
Billion Dollar Gravy (2003) is widely considered London Elektricity’s best and most defining album, praised for its blend of live instrumentation and drum & bass. Other top contenders include the raw debut Pull the Plug(1999) and the critically acclaimed, personal 2019 release Building Better Worlds. His work often merges complex, musical arrangements with dancefloor-focused rhythms.
