Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio project initiated in 2020, when the three members had the opportunity to materialise their musical plans in great synergy. Pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron, form a trio with a solid background in classical and alternative music.
Their repertoire contains original pieces written by Andrei Petrache in a genre area of modern jazz with influences from Nordic contemporary jazz and Balkan-oriental colours.
The story behind this composition speaks of close friendships and the pleasure of playing and improvising in a well-welded formula, despite the fact that each of the three activates in multiple other projects simultaneously.
With the release of their two debut albums, “Points” and “Seasons” (2023), Amphitrio began to explore more and more sub-genres of the electro-groove area, continuing to expand their creative horizons.
