Offering genuine music inspired by 1960s jazz blended with modern influences like Roy Hargrove, the Lyder Røed Quintet has established a formidable presence in the jazz world. Formed in 2023 by Lyder Røed after collaborating with various musicians across Norway, the quintet includes:
- Lyder Røed – flugelhorn and trumpet
- Aksel Røed – saxophone
- Philip Granly – piano
- Andreas Svabø – bass
- Elias Tafjord – drums
Each artist is involved in diverse projects, collaborating with bands like Fieh, Tigerstate, NSB, General Post Office, and Gabriella Garrubo. This fall, the quintet is set to release a new album under Jazzland Recordings. The album was recorded in one week at Flerbruket studios, capturing the group’s live essence without additional editing. It follows the success of their first album, “The Moon Doesn’t Drink” (with Hanna Paulsberg, Steinar Raknes, Eyolf Dale, and Tore Ljøkelsøy), also released under Jazzland Recordings.
