Isfar Sarabski Quartet

Isfar Sarabski is a young pianist and composer with incredible talent. His music ranges from jazz to electronic, so there’s never a dull moment when you’re listening to him. We highly recommend checking out his latest Boiler Room set.

Hailing from Baku, Azerbaijan, Isfar is the grandson of a renowned opera singer, Huseyngulu Sarabski, who was not only an opera singer but also an actor and one of the pioneers of opera in the Islamic world. With this background, Isfar began performing for large audiences at the Jazz Youth Festival early in his childhood. At just 19, he won the piano competition at the Montreux Festival in 2009. Not only that, but he also received the Zirva State Award in 2010.

He draws inspiration from classical composers like Bach, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Mustafazadeh. Occasionally, when he’s not performing solo, he joins trios and even orchestras. At Etnografic, he will be performing as part of a quartet. For the first time!
